Hi Gwen, thanks for your comment! As you can imagine, I don't think that a social media conference for every industry yet. Instead, I think you should go to what I believe will be the best general social media marketing conference this year: Social Media Marketing World!

What is the best conference to attend if you are an NGO operating in a closed media environment and you are using FB etc. to promote social change? We appear to be increasingly forming our own free media for our work and want to attract a strong following, both in the country and abroad, where other countries might also have a ‘freedom of the media’ problem. That said, we are not promoting political rights but social rights – better health, education, social protection etc.

That is a great question – for which there is no easy answer Ari. Most conferences are looking for speakers if you apply early enough, so I recommend that you check up on those (and other) websites for a Speakers Submission link. Good luck with it!

Hi Neal, do you have suggestions (or a similar list) on which conferences are looking for speakers? Since I haven’t written a best-selling book or work at a Fortune 100 firm, nobody knows me. But I do have value to share. I’ve spoken at regional conferences, and have long sought to speak elsewhere. Is there a list or best practice toolkit to approach conference producers and respond to their call to speakers? Thanks.
